Gravina di Puglia is a small town not far from Altamura that has many other particular and interesting historical stuff to see.
The name of the town comes from the word rift, this becouse the town is divided in two from this large fissure.
As Altamura, Gravina is part of Altamurgia Park.
Not a long time ago has been discovered Gravina Sotterranea (Subterrean Gravina), a spettacular old cellar, if you'd like to see this place you need to wear a gym shoes and you have to book at this link.

Another important ruder found in Puglia is the "Castello Svevo" in Gravina, built on a hill from Emperor Federico II di Svevia to dominate the city and the surrounding territory.
